Basmati Rice - 1cup
Cumin Seeds - 1tbsp
Bay leaf - 2Nos.
Cinnamon - 2Sticks
Cloves - 2Nos.
Onions - 1small (Cut into lengthwise and lightly fried in ghee)
Garam Masala - 1tsp
Salt to taste
oil - 2tsp
Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 to 40 mins.
Shallow fry cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon in a little oil.
Add rice, water, salt, Garam Masala, bay leaf, cumin seeds, cinnamon and cloves, in a pot and close the lid and cook till the rice is done.
Open lid and garnish with fried onions. Jeera rice is good to be served with Dal.
